There are only six of us at Kong, which is incredible when you consider what we’ve built and how long it’s actually taken; but, it works. We wear multiple hats, adapt to change (with an abnormal level of enthusiasm), work hard, have a total feeling of ownership for our product and everyone has an in depth knowledge of the business and inputs at a level that just wouldn’t happen with a bigger team.
Would more people make our lives easier? I doubt it. Communication is easier, we make important decisions together, pivot quickly and there’s no red tape to navigate; from processes that need to be in place with larger organisations. We’re like a family unit but one that gets on!
We have strength in (small) numbers and, until we have to grow, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
